A storm system will approach from the west tonight, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing by morning, mainly west of Madison. Lows will be near 60 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely Sunday, especially in the afternoon, and there is a slight risk of severe weather. It will be windy, warm and a bit more humid with highs in the lower 80s.

A weak cold front will end the chances for showers and thunderstorms by Sunday night. The front will move to the south of Wisconsin, allowing skies to become partly sunny on Monday, as temperatures climb into the middle 80s.

The front will lift northward as a warm front and stall over the region from Tuesday through Friday, leading to additional chances of showers and thunderstorms. Expect warm and humid conditions throughout the period. Showers and thunderstorms will develop Monday night into Tuesday morning before moving to the east by the afternoon. Tuesday will be war! m and very humid, with highs in the mid 80s and heat indices in the lower 90s. The rest of the week will be warm and humid as well, with occasional showers and thunderstorms and highs in the lower to middle 80s

A cut off low pressure system will ride along the front into the weekend which will extend slight chances of showers as temperatures and humidity drop just a bit. Highs will be near 80 for Saturday and Sunday.

NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for Sunday and Sunday night for extreme eastern Iowa, the northwestern half of Illinois, and for far southern Wisconsin (south of a Dubuque, IA to Madison to Beaver Dam to Milwaukee line). A cold front will move through eastern Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Warm and somewhat humid air ahead of the front will lead to a few strong to severe thunderstorms forming along the front, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Hail a! nd high winds are the main threats. The severe weather threat should e nd with the passage of the cold front Sunday evening.
