Unseasonably cool weather is expected through Tuesday night. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and cooler, and as a low-pressure system aloft drops over Wisconsin, scattered showers are possible, along with a chance for an isolated evening thunderstorm. Temperatures will fall to the upper 50s by late evening, and to the lower 50s by morning.
On Tuesday, skies will be variably cloudy, and it will be breezy and unseasonably chilly. There is a chance for showers in the afternoon. High temperatures in the upper 60s will flirt with the lowest high temperature ever for Tuesday in Madison, that being 68 degrees in 1962. Any lingering showers will end early Tuesday evening, then it will turn clear and very chilly with lows in the upper 40s. Madison's record low for Wednesday morning is 48 degrees set in 1973.
Sunny skies and a rebound in temperatures begins Wednesday and continues into the weekend. Highs will be in the middle 70s on Wednesday, an! d in the upper 70s on Thursday and Friday.
Over the weekend into next Monday, warm weather will continue, and humidity levels will creep back up. This could lead to a chance for late afternoon and nighttime showers and thunderstorms on Sunday and Monday. Highs will be in the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday, and in the middle 80s on Monday.
