Skies will be mostly clear again tonight and temperatures will be comfortable with lows falling into the upper 50s. Our warming trend will continue this weekend with partly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday and highs reaching the lower 80s Saturday and middle 80s Sunday. The humidity will be on the rise as well, with heat index values near 90 by Sunday afternoon.
Early next week will bring in the warmest air of the year so far, as temperatures approach or exceed 90 on Monday and Tuesday. One of those two days is likely to be our first 90 degree high of the year in Madison. Monday will be partly sunny, hot and humid with a high around 90 and heat index in the mid 90s. Tuesday will be hot and humid as well with highs in the lower 90s and heat index values as high as 100 in the afternoon. A front will move in later Tuesday that will bring showers and thunderstorms through the area from late Tuesday through at least early Wednesday.
Wednesd! ay will see those thunderstorms ending, but it will still be warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s. Thursday will be partly sunny and still warm, but less humid with highs in the lower 80s.
On Friday, another storm system will approach Wisconsin, leading to an increase in humidity again and showers and thunderstorms developing overnight. Highs will be in the middle 80s.
For next weekend, Saturday will be variably cloudy, warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the middle 80s. Following the passage of a cold front, showers will end early on Sunday, then it will turn partly sunny, breezy, cooler, and less humid with highs falling back into the upper 70s.
