Our warming trend will continue Sunday with partly sunny skies, highs in the mid 80s and increased humidity pushing heat index values near 90 by afternoon.
Early next week will bring in the warmest air of the year so far, as temperatures approach or exceed 90 on Monday and Tuesday. One of those two days is likely to be our first 90 degree high of the year in Madison. Monday will be partly sunny, hot and humid with a high around 90 and heat index in the mid 90s. Tuesday will be hot and humid as well with highs in the lower 90s and heat index values as high as 100 in the afternoon. A front will move in later Tuesday that will bring showers and thunderstorms through the area from late Tuesday through early Wednesday.
Wednesday will see those thunderstorms ending, but it will still be warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s. Thursday will be mostly sunny, cooler and less humid with highs falling into the upper 70s.
On Friday, another st! orm system will approach Wisconsin, leading to an increase in temperatures again and showers and thunderstorms developing overnight. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
For next weekend, Saturday will be mostly cloudy, warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms with highs in the lower to middle 80s. Following the passage of a cold front, Sunday will be partly sunny, cooler and less humid with just a slight chance of isolated showers and highs near 80.
