Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast today as warmer and more humid air moves into the region. Temperatures will climb from the 50s and 60s this morning to the upper 70s this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms will continue through the evening but diminish overnight with lows falling to the middle 60s.
The weekend will begin with partly sunny, very warm, and humid conditions on Saturday. Highs will reach the middle 80s and heat index values will be around 90 in the afternoon. There will be another chance for showers and thunderstorms Sunday as a cold front moves through the state. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
Next week looks a little cooler than normal to start with highs in the middle and upper 70s. Highs will be around 80 degrees Wednesday and Thursday. There are small chances for thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and again late Wednesday. Thursday's showers and thunderstorms will be possible throughout the day.
