The Storm Prediction Center says that there is SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms on Sunday and Sunday night for extreme southeastern Minnesota, the eastern third of Iowa, the northern quarter of Illinois, and most of Wisconsin. A very warm and humid air mass will be over the central Midwest on Sunday. As a cold front approaches from the northwest, thunderstorms will develop in Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon, spreading into southern Wisconsi! n and northern Illinois by Sunday night. High winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are the main threats, although and isolated tornado may be possible where thunderstorms initially develop. The severe weather threat should lessen overnight as the cold front moves southward into Illinois.
