Tonight will be partly cloudy, mild, and muggy with areas of fog forming again overnight. As a cold front approaches from the west, there is a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm toward morning, mainly west of Madison. Temperatures will fall to the middle 70s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall to the lower 70s by morning.

Monday will be partly sunny, hot, and humid. As the cold front approaches from the west, there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially early in the morning and later in the afternoon. High temperatures will top out around 90 degrees, with afternoon heat index readings in the middle to upper 90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday night.

The cold front will move south of Wisconsin on Tuesday, but become stationary across Illinois and Iowa for the middle of the week. Expect variably cloudy skies and a chance for showers and thunderstorms, as high temperatures drop! back to the lower 80s on Tuesday and middle to upper 70s on Wednesday. High temperatures may be dependent on the amount of cloudiness and coverage of the rain.

On Thursday, skies will become mostly cloudy as a low pressure system develops in the Plains. The chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase late in the day, and continue into Friday as the storm system gets closer.  Highs for both Thursday and Friday will be in the middle to upper 70s.

The storm system will move through the area on Friday night, and head to the northeast on Saturday. Lingering showers should end saturday morning, and skies will become partly sunny, allowing high temperatures to climb to around 80 degrees. Sunday should be partly sunny and warm with high temperatures in the lower 80s. On Labor Day Monday, winds will be picking up from the south, allowing temperatures to climb into the middle 80s with a little more humidity. As a cold front approaches from the west, there wi! ll be some showers and thunderstorms developing, mainly later in the a fternoon into Monday night. High temperatures will reach the middle 80s.
