NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for tonight for most of Iowa, extreme northwestern Illinois, and extreme southwestern Wisconsin (south and west of a La Crosse to Tomah to Monroe to Freeport, IL line). Scattered showers and thunderstorms are developing ahead of a weak cold front and trough of low pressure moving southeastward from Minnesota into Iowa and Wisconsin. High instability in a warm and humid air mass coupled wi! th strong winds aloft that can fuel thunderstorm updrafts could result in a few strong to marginally severe thunderstorms through this evening, with hail, gusty winds, and locally heavy rainfall being the main threats. The severe weather threat will diminish this evening after sunset, and end with the passage of the cold front.
