The well-advertised cold air has arrived across southern Wisconsin. Temperatures will be well below normal tonight and on Friday. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and chilly with lows around 40 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy and very chilly with scattered light rain showers. Highs will only reach the lower 50s, which is more than 20 degrees below normal. Showers will come to an end Friday evening, with skies clearing late at night. Patchy frost will be possible, mainly in areas northwest of Dane county as temperatures fall into the upper 30s.
The weekend looks mostly sunny and we will see a slow warming trend. Highs will be near 60 on Saturday and in the middle 60s on Sunday. Scattered showers will develop Monday with highs in the lower 60s.
Cool but pleasant weather is in the forecast for the remainder of next week. We'll see mostly sunny skies Tuesday, and partly sunny skies Wednesday through Friday. A gradual warming trend will! take place with highs in the middle 60s Tuesday, in the lower 70s Wednesday and Thursday, and in the middle 70s on Friday.
