Southern Wisconsin weather

7 Day Forecast

Posted On Nov 07 2014 03:12:09 PM CST

The next weather system will move into the state tonight with a cold front moving through southern Wisconsin early on Saturday morning. A few light rain showers developing tonight will mix with flurries by early Saturday morning as colder air moves across the region. Any light rain or flurries will come to an end early Saturday morning, with skies becoming partly sunny by afternoon. Saturday will be breezy and cold with high temperatures in the upper 30s. Another quick hitting wave will move through Saturday night into early Sunday that will start as light snow, then mix with rain before ending. Sunday's highs will be in the lower 40s.

On Monday, a more powerful wave will be moving along a stationary front that will be positioned in or near southern Wisconsin. This has the potential to produce significant snowfall for the area, but its placement is very uncertain at this point. Right now, this system appears to be bringing in snow for the north! ern half of the viewing area and a rain/snow mix to the south, eventually changing to all snow on Monday night. Highs Monday will be in the upper 30s. Any light snow and flurries will end Tuesday morning, followed by skies becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. It will be windy with high temperatures reaching the lower 30s on Tuesday morning, then holding steady or slowly falling into the 20s by afternoon.

An extended period of very unseasonably cold weather will settle in from Wednesday into the weekend. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny Wednesday through Friday with highs near 30 and lows in the lower teens. Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 30s over the weekend.
