As a cold front sweeps through southern Wisconsin this morning, rain and mixed precipitation will change to light snow or flurries. Minor snow accumulations up to 2" are possible, mainly for areas northwest of Madison. It will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder as high temperatures reach the upper 30s early today, before falling into the lower 30s in the afternoon. As skies turn partly cloudy tonight, temperatures will drop into the middle teens, and with brisk winds continuing, wind chill may drop to near zero by Wednesday morning.

An extended period of unseasonably cold weather will settle in from Wednesday through next week. Skies will be partly sunny on Wednesday with high temperatures only reaching the upper 20s. Thursday will be variably cloudy and breezy with scattered flurries; high temperatures will remain in the upper 20s. High pressure will move into southern Wisconsin Friday with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures near 30 degre! es. Low temperatures will be in the teens Wednesday through Friday mornings.

This weekend, a weak weather system will bring increasing cloudiness on Saturday, and a chance for light snow or flurries late in the day, with light snow likely at night.
