A powerful area of low pressure will move through central Wisconsin tonight. This will keep the northern part of the state in an area favorable for accumulating snow. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and mild. Temperatures will fall to the middle 40s by late evening. Overnight, skies will remain mostly cloudy with rain and snow showers developing mainly northwest of Madison toward morning. Low temperatures will fall to the middle 30s by morning. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder with rain and snow showers changing to light snow and flurries as temperatures fall from the middle to upper 30s early to the lower 30s by late afternoon.

As a cold front sweeps through southern Wisconsin early on Tuesday, rain and mixed precipitation will change to light snow or flurries. Minor snow accumulations up to 2" are possible, mainly for areas northwest of Madison. It will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder as high temperatures reach the upper 30s e! arly Tuesday, before temperatures fall into the lower 30s in the afternoon. As skies turn partly cloudy Tuesday night, temperatures will drop into the middle teens, and with brisk winds continuing, wind chill may drop to near zero by Wednesday morning.

An extended period of unseasonably cold weather will settle in from Wednesday through next week. Skies will be partly sunny on Wednesday with high temperatures only reaching the upper 20s. Thursday will be variably cloudy and breezy with scattered flurries; high temperatures will remain in the upper 20s. High pressure will move into southern Wisconsin Friday with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures near 30 degrees. Low temperatures will be in the teens Wednesday through Friday mornings.

This weekend, a weak weather system will bring increasing cloudiness on Saturday, and a chance for light snow or flurries late in the day, with light snow likely at night. High temperatures will be in the lower 30s. Light snow! will taper to flurries and end on Sunday, otherwise it will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and cold with high temperatures in the upper 20s.

Monday will be cloudy, breezy, and continued unseasonably cold with a chance for snow showers and flurries with high temperatures only reaching the middle 20s.
