A weak weather system will move through from late tonight into Sunday morning. Partly cloudy skies this evening will become mostly cloudy overnight with a chance for light snow; low temperatures will fall to around 30 degrees. On Sunday light snow may mix with rain before ending in the morning, otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies and chilly weather with high temperatures in the middle 40s.

A more powerful storm system will be affecting Wisconsin later Sunday night into early next week. The storm will move along a stationary front that will be over or near southern Wisconsin. This has the potential to produce some accumulating snowfall for the area from Monday night into Tuesday, but the placement of the front will be critical as to temperatures, which will affect the ultimate amount of snow.

Light rain and snow will develop either late Sunday night or early on Monday, but should quickly change to rain as high temperatures climb to ! the middle 40s due to strong easterly winds by Monday afternoon. Some rain may still mix with snow north of Madison. Light rain will eventually change to snow on Monday night, as temperatures fall below freezing, with some accumulation likely.

Scattered snow showers will continue on Tuesday, leading to some more light accumulations. Highs Tuesday will be in the mid 30s early in the day, but temperatures will fall into the 20s later in the day with strong northwest winds pushing in cold Canadian air. As skies turn partly cloudy on Tuesday night, temperatures should tumble into the lower teens by morning. With brisk winds continuing, wind chills could drop to near zero or below by early Wednesday morning.

An extended period of unseasonably cold weather will settle in from Wednesday into next weekend. Skies will be partly sunny on Wednesday and Thursday, and mostly sunny on Friday. High temperatures will only be near 30 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, and i! n the lower 30s on Friday. Lows temperatures will be in the lower teen s.

Another weather system by next weekend will bring more cloudiness on Saturday, and mostly cloudy skies and a chance for light snow on Sunday. High temperatures will stay well below normal, topping out in the middle 30s.
