A storm system will develop and move through the Midwest early this work week. Today will be cloudy and breezy with areas of fog, light rain, and light snow this morning. Rain will become more widespread in the afternoon, but may continue to mix with some light snow in areas northwest of Madison. High temperatures will reach the upper 30s. Widespread rain and fog will continue tonight, and may mix with snow northwest of Madison. Temperatures will fall into the middle 30s by early Tuesday morning. As the low pressure system moves more northeast on Tuesday, areas of fog and drizzle as well as a little light rain will be possible. High temperatures will be quite mild on Tuesday, reaching 40 degrees.
As a low pressure system over Wisconsin moves to the east it will merge with another low pressure system moving up from the Gulf Coast. This will cause the merged system to stall to our northeast as it intensifies into Christmas Eve day. Christmas Eve w! ill be cloudy and breezy with a chance for light snow. A better chance for snow showers will stay east of Wisconsin. High temperatures on Christmas Eve should drop back to the middle 30s. Christmas Day will be variably cloudy and a bit breezy with highs reaching the middle 30s.
Snow is possible Friday as another system moves through Wisconsin, and minor snow accumulations are possible. Highs will reach the lower 30s.
Next weekend will be quiet with partly sunny skies each day. Saturday will be breezy and colder with highs in the lower 20s. Sunday will be seasonably cold with highs in the middle 20s.
