Today will be variably cloudy and seasonably cold with high temperatures reaching the lower 30s. Skies will become mostly cloudy again tonight with lows in the lower 20s.
Skies will be mostly cloudy for the weekend with slightly above-normal temperatures. There is a chance for flurries and drizzle for both Saturday and Sunday, with the better chance of Sunday, and high temperatures will be in the lower to middle 30s. At night when temperatures fall below freezing, some freezing drizzle may be possible.
A complex storm system will take shape across the Midwest from Monday into Tuesday and Christmas Eve Wednesday. On Monday, it will be cloudy and breezy with light rain and snow developing by afternoon. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 30s. Tuesday will be cloudy with any rain/snow mix becoming scattered snow showers, and high temperatures in the middle 30s. Some accumulation is possible from Monday night into Tuesday.
As the low pressure system over Wisconsin moves to the east it will merge with another system moving up the Atlantic coast, which will cause the merged system to stall over the northeast and intensify. That will result in cloudy and windy conditions for Christmas Eve with scattered snow showers and possible minor accumulations. High temperatures will be near 30. Christmas Day will be mostly cloudy and breezy with only a few lingering flurries. High temperatures will remain near 30.
There is a chance for snow to redevelop on Friday as another system moves through the area. It will be mostly cloudy and breezy with highs in the lower 30s. After that system passes, Saturday will be variably cloudy and colder with highs in the mid to upper 20s.
Be sure to monitor the latest forecast if you have travel plans next week, especially if travelling through Wisconsin or areas to the east and southeast.
