As the first part of a complex storm system moves through Wisconsin this afternoon, it will be mostly cloudy and mild with areas of patchy drizzle. High temperatures will reach the lower to middle 40s. As the storm moves slowly to the east tonight, winds will shift to the north and it will turn slightly colder. Areas of fog are still possible, but drizzle will mix with flurries as temperatures fall to the lower 30s by Wednesday morning.

Another area of low pressure will move north from the Gulf Coast to Michigan on Wednesday, merging with the storm moving eastward out of Wisconsin. Christmas Eve day will be cloudy, breezy, and a little colder with rain and snow showers. Most of the precipitation will be east of Madison, and any accumulating snow will stay in that area. At this point, even those accumulations look minor. High temperatures on Christmas Eve should reach the middle to upper 30s in the morning, before holding steady or falling slightl! y in the afternoon. On Christmas Eve night, any light snow or flurries will be ending and skies will turn partly cloudy; low temperatures will fall into the mid 20s. Christmas Day will be variably cloudy and mild with high temperatures near 40.

Skies will be mostly cloudy again on Friday as another low pressure system moves through Wisconsin. Some rain/snow showers may develop late in the day as the system moves through and high temperatures will still be near 40. It will turn colder Friday night as rain and snow showers change to flurries before ending.

The weather for the weekend will be quiet with partly sunny skies each day. Saturday will be breezy and colder with high temperatures near 30. Sunday will be seasonably cold with high temperatures in the upper 20s.

Things look considerably colder to end the year, as temperatures fall into the mid 20s on Monday and into the teens for Tuesday and Wednesday's highs. There is a chance of a few flurries bo! th Monday and Tuesday.
