This evening will be mostly cloudy with any flurries ending and temperatures in the lower 20s. Skies will become partly cloudy overnight as lows drop into the lower teens. Friday will be partly sunny and seasonably cold with high temperatures in the middle 20s.
A storm system will head northeastward toward the Midwest for the weekend. Skies will become mostly cloudy on Saturday with rain and snow showers developing, with most of the rain staying southeast of Madison. High temperatures will reach the lower 30s. Several inches of snow accumulation are possible for Saturday night as the system moves through the area. The storm will head east on Sunday, with windy and much colder weather following in its wake. Snow will taper to flurries early in the day and come to an end. Some clearing is possible by afternoon. High temperatures will reach the lower teens early, but temperatures will fall into the single digits during the day.
As skies c! lear Sunday night, bitterly cold air arrives with low temperatures falling near -10, and wind chills dropping to as low as -30 by Monday morning. Monday will then be partly sunny and bitterly cold with highs in the mid single digits. Snow will develop again Monday night and continue into Tuesday before tapering to flurries. Some accumulation is possible. Skies will clear a bit again on Tuesday afternoon, but it will remain breezy and cold with highs near 10.
Bitterly cold air that may be the coldest of the season arrives Tuesday night. As skies clear, but winds remain brisk over the fresh snow cover, temperatures will nosedive to -10 or colder, with wind chills as cold as -35 by Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be partly sunny, but still breezy and bitterly cold with high temperatures only reaching the middle single digits.
Thursday will be variably cloudy and cold with highs in the lower teens and a chance of some light snow late in the day, and Friday wi! ll be partly sunny and not quite as cold with highs near 20.
