Tonight will be mostly clear and bitterly cold again. Temperatures will fall into the middle to upper single digits below zero by late evening; overnight low temperatures will drop to the lower teens below zero by early Thursday morning. Even though winds won't be as strong as last night, it will be a little colder tonight. Expect wind chills to be as cold as -20 to -30.
Skies will become mostly cloudy on Thursday, and it will become windy with light snow developing as a fast-moving "Alberta Clipper" weather system sweeps through Wisconsin. About 1-3" of snow accumulation is possible by evening with the heaviest amounts west of Madison. It will remain bitterly cold with high temperatures in the upper single digits above zero, but wind chills will remain in the -5 to -20 range all day. After the snow ends Thursday evening, then it will become mostly clear, windy, and bitterly cold by early Friday morning. Low temperatures will be between -5 ! and -10, and wind chills will range from -20 to -35. Blowing snow may be an issue as well, especially in rural areas.
Friday will be partly sunny, breezy, and bitterly cold with high temperatures reaching the lower single digits. Wind chills will remain from 5 to 20 below zero through the day. Friday night will be mostly clear and bitter cold as well. Low temperatures will fall to around -10 with wind chills from -15 to -25.
We should begin to come out of the deep freeze over the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny and not as bitter cold with high temperatures near 10 and wind chills just below zero. Sunday will be partly sunny and not quite as cold with low temperatures just above zero and high temperatures near 20.
Monday and Tuesday will have near-normal temperatures, with high temperatures in the middle 20s. Monday will be mostly cloudy with a chance for flurries. Tuesday will be partly sunny. A chance for light snow or flurries will devel! op Tuesday night through Wednesday morning as a storm passes just to o ur south. Skies will begin to clear later on Wednesday. It will be a little colder with high temperatures in the upper teens.
