Tonight will be mostly cloudy and milder with light snow, possibly mixed with a little sleet or freezing rain this evening, especially south of Madison with temperatures remaining nearly steady in the upper 20s. Overnight, precipitation will diminish to flurries or patchy freezing drizzle; areas of fog are also possible. Overnight low temperatures will fall to the middle 20s by morning.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with flurries and freezing drizzle ending in the morning. It will turn windy and colder in the afternoon as a cold front sweeps through southern Wisconsin; some partial clearing is also possible late in the day. High temperatures will top out around 30 degrees early, before temperatures hold steady or slowly fall through the 20s in the afternoon. 

As skies turn partly cloudy on Wednesday night, temperatures will fall into the lower single digits. Brisk winds will cause wind chills to be as cold as -10 to -20 by early Thursday morn! ing. Thursday will be mostly sunny, breezy, and much colder with high temperatures only reaching the lower teens. Winds will gradually decrease Thursday afternoon. With partly cloudy skies on Thursday night, low temperatures will fall to just above zero. Friday will be mostly cloudy and cold with a chance for flurries; high temperatures will reach the upper teens.

Another shot of very cold weather will arrive early in the weekend. A cold front will sweep through southern Wisconsin Saturday morning with variably cloudy skies and a slight chance for flurries. Saturday will be windy and very cold with highs only reaching the middle single digits in the morning, before temperatures fall in the afternoon. Wind chills will be as cold as -20 throughout the day. Temperatures will turn bitterly cold Saturday night, falling well into the single digits below zero by early Sunday morning. Wind chills will be as cold as -10 to -20 through the night. Skies on Sunday will be increas! ingly cloudy with a chance for flurries late in the day or at night; h igh temperatures will be in the lower teens.

Partly sunny skies on Monday morning will become mostly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperatures will be near 20 degrees. As a storm system passes to our south, there is a chance for light snow Monday night into early Tuesday morning.  The cold returns in full force by Tuesday, as skies turn partly sunny, winds become breezy, and high temperatures reach the middle teens early in the day, before temperatures fall into the single digits in the afternoon.
