Tonight will be mostly clear and bitterly cold again. Temperatures will fall to the middle single digits by late evening with wind chills driopping below zero. Overnight low temperatures will fall to the middle single digits below zero, with wind chills from -10 to -20 by morning.
Saturday will be partly sunny and not quite as cold. High temperatures will top out around 20 degrees. Low pressure will develop in the southern Plains on Saturday and move toward the Midwest, bringing a chance for light snow to southern Wisconsin by late Saturday. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with light snow and flurries; minor accumulations of 1-3" are possible, with the highest totals south of Madison. High temperatures will reach the middle 20s on Sunday.
On Monday, we will be in between two storm systems. Expect partly sunny skies and continued cold weather with high temperatures near 30 degrees.
A strong area of low pressure will develop to our ! southwest, and move through southern Wisconsin on Tuesday. Skies will turn mostly cloudy on Monday night, and light snow will develop, possibly mixing with sleet and freezing rain toward Tuesday morning. The mixed precipitation should change to rain and isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday, especially south of Madison, as temperatures climb above freezing early in the day, rising to the middle to upper 30s in the afternoon. A cold front will sweep through Wisconsin late in the day, causing temperatures fall again Tuesday evening, changing rain and any mixed precipitation back to snow before tapering to flurries overnight into early Wednesday morning. Some snow accumulation may be possible.
Much colder air will continue to sweep through Wisconsin on Wednesday. Skies will be variably cloudy, but it will be breezy and much colder with a chance for flurries. High temperatures will start out in the middle teens early in the day, but should will slowly fall into the singl! e digits in the afternoon. Skies will turn mostly clear and it will tu rn bitterly cold on Wednesday night, with low temperatures falling to the middle single digits below zero and wind chills dropping to -10 to -20. Thursday will be partly sunny and very cold again with highs in the middle to upper teens.
Temperatures will moderate quickly on Friday, with partly sunny skies and breezy southwesterly winds pushing high temperatures back into the middle 30s.
We should actually see near-normal temperatures for next weekend. Skies will be partly sunny for both Saturday and Sunday with high temperatures in the upper 30s.
