Skies will turn mostly cloudy this morning, it will become breezy, and not quite as cold with highs in the teens to near 20 this afternoon. Wind chills will be well below zero this morning. Light snow will spread across the area from west to east this morning as well. Minor snowfall accumulations around 1" are expected by tonight. Flurries will continue tonight with temperatures holding steady in the middle teens or slowly rising overnight.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy and not as cold with flurries gradually coming to an end. While high temperatures will reach the upper 20s, a cold front will move through southern Wisconsin in the afternoon, sending arctic air flooding back into the area. Skies will clear Saturday night, with low temperatures falling to just above zero, while wind chills drop to between -10 and -20 by Sunday morning. During the day on Sunday, skies will be partly sunny, and it will be windy and much colder with high temperatur! es only reaching the middle single digits. Wind chills will be as cold as 0 to -10 Sunday afternoon. Sunday night will be mostly clear and bitterly cold with low temperatures falling to near -10, with wind chills falling to -10 to -20 by early Monday morning.
Monday will be mostly sunny and very cold with high temperatures reaching the middle teens. It will become mostly cloudy and windy on Monday night as a storm system approaches from the west, causing temperatures to hold steady or slowly rise overnight. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and windy with a chance for snow showers and flurries. It won't be quite as cold with high temperatures in the middle 20s, but skies will clear and it will become bitterly cold again on Tuesday night, with low temperatures falling to just below zero and wind chills as cold as -10 to -20 by Wednesday morning.
Wednesday will be partly sunny, breezy and bitterly cold again with high temperatures in the lower to middle teens, wh! ile wind chills stay below zero. Thursday will be partly sunny and con tinue bitterly cold with low temperatures below zero and highs near 10. Friday will be mostly sunny and very cold with high temperatures in the middle teens.
