It will be cloudy with light snow, sleet and freezing rain developing this afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 20s. Light snow and flurries will continue tonight with some light accumulation possible by Wednesday morning. Highest amounts up to 2" will be possible north and west of Madison. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with flurries ending early and some clearing possible in the afternoon. High temperatures will top out near 30 in the morning, but it will become windy and colder in the afternoon with temperatures falling through the 20s.
As skies turn partly cloudy on Wednesday night, temperatures will fall into the lower single digits. Brisk winds will cause wind chills to be as cold as -10 to -20 by early Thursday morning. Thursday will become mostly sunny, less windy, and much colder with high temperatures only reaching the lower teens. Thursday night will be very cold, with low temperatures near zero. Friday will be mostly ! cloudy and cold with a chance of light snow and flurries; high temperatures will reach the upper teens.
Another shot of very cold weather arrives early in the weekend. As a cold front sweeps through southern Wisconsin on Saturday morning, skies will be variably cloudy, and it will be windy and very cold with high temperatures only in the mid single digits early, before slowly falling back near zero during the day. Skies will become mostly clear on Saturday night and winds will become light, but temperatures will turn bitterly cold, falling to the middle single digits below zero by early Sunday morning. Skies on Sunday will become increasingly cloudy with a chance for flurries late in the day or at night; high temperatures will be in the lower to middle teens.
Partly sunny skies on Monday morning will become increasingly cloudy in the afternoon with light snow developing late in the day or at night. High temperatures will reach the middle 20s. The cold retur! ns in full force by Tuesday, with windy conditions and highs in the mi d teens early, then falling temperatures.
