As a cold front moves through the area this morning, winds will increase to 15-25 mph. Temperatures will start out near 30, but fall through the 20s throughout the day as colder air pours in to southern Wisconsin. Some partial clearing is possible late in the day.
As skies turn partly cloudy tonight, temperatures will fall into the lower single digits. Brisk winds will cause wind chills to be as cold as -10 to -20 by early Thursday morning. Thursday will be mostly sunny, breezy early, and much colder with high temperatures only reaching the lower teens. Winds will gradually decrease Thursday afternoon. As clouds build in again on Thursday night, low temperatures will fall to just above zero. Friday will be mostly cloudy and cold with a chance for flurries or scattered light snow showers, especially early; high temperatures will reach the upper teens.
Another shot of very cold weather will arrive early in the weekend. A cold front will sweep t! hrough southern Wisconsin Saturday morning with variably cloudy skies and a slight chance for flurries. Saturday will be windy and very cold with highs only reaching the middle single digits in the morning, before temperatures fall in the afternoon. Wind chills will be as cold as -20 throughout the day. Temperatures will turn bitterly cold Saturday night, falling near -10 by early Sunday morning. Wind chills will be as cold as -10 to -20 through the night. Skies on Sunday will be increasingly cloudy with a chance for flurries overnight; high temperatures will be in the lower teens.
Partly sunny skies on Monday morning will become mostly cloudy in the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the lower 20s. As a storm system passes to our south, there is a chance for snow showers Monday night into early Tuesday morning. The cold returns in full force by Tuesday, with strong winds returning and highs in the mid teens early before temperatures fall during the day. Wednesd! ay and Thursday will be partly sunny, breezy and very cold with below zero lows and highs in the lower teens.
