This afternoon will be mostly cloudy with snow showers moving through the area. High temperatures will climb to the middle teens. It will be mostly cloudy and very cold tonight with light snow and flurries coming to an end; minor accumulations of 1-2" are possible, mainly southwest of Madison. Low temperatures will drop to near zero with wind chills from -10 to -20.

Skies will gradually become partly sunny on Thursday with a chance of a few lingering flurries, mainly early. High temperatures will only climb to near 10 degrees, with wind chills from 0 to -10 during the day. Thursday night will become mostly clear and bitterly cold. Low temperatures will fall to between 5 and 10 below zero with wind chills from -10 to -15. Friday will be mostly sunny and continued cold. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper teens.

Temperatures should moderate somewhat this weekend. Saturday will be partly sunny and not quite as cold with high temperatu! res in the lower 20s. Low pressure will develop in the southern Plains on Saturday and move toward the Midwest, bringing light snow or flurries to southern Wisconsin from later Saturday night through Sunday. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the upper 20s. Some minor accumulation is possible.

Monday will be partly sunny with highs near 30 degrees. A large low pressure system will move into the area Monday night and continue through on Tuesday. This has the potential to bring snow showers and some sleet or freezing rain as temperatures will be near, but slightly below, freezing. Highs will be near 30. After the system passes, it will be partly sunny Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the lower to middle 20s.
