Low pressure sliding south of Wisconsin has brought some hefty snow totals to parts of southern Wisconsin. Up to thirteen inches of snow has accumulated south and west of Madison. North and east of Madison, snow totals have ranged from trace amounts to three or four inches. Snow will come to an end this afternoon with some clearing possible late in the day. High temperatures will reach the middle 30s. Tonight will be partly cloudy and cold with overnight lows near 20 degrees.
Skies will become increasingly cloudy on Tuesday as a warm front moves closer to Wisconsin. It will become windy and not quite as cold with high temperatures climbing to near 40 degrees. Rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop late Tuesday afternoon or evening. Rain will come to an end Wednesday morning, and it will be windy and turning colder. Highs will reach the upper 40s Wednesday, before holding steady or falling in the afternoon.
After the system passes,! colder air will settle across the region. Thursday will be variably cloudy, breezy, and colder with flurries or sprinkles. High temperatures will be near 40. Friday will be partly sunny and chilly with high temperatures in the middle 30s.
The weekend will be a little milder again. Saturday will be partly sunny and breezy with a chance for rain showers late at night. Highs will be in the middle 40s. Sunday will be windy with a chance for light rain. Highs will reach the upper 40s Sunday morning before temperatures fall Sunday afternoon.
