Daily Forecast 5PM

7 Day Forecast

Published On: Apr 08 2015 03:09:25 PM CDT

A nearly stationary frontal boundary will lift to the north as a warm front on Thursday, along with an associated low pressure system. This storm system will track across southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of this system tonight through Thursday morning. Temperatures will fall into the lower 40s tonight, but will hold steady or rise slightly overnight. Areas of fog may also develop.

A second round of thunderstorms will move through the area Thursday afternoon and evening. Some storms could be severe during that period with large hail and damaging winds being the main threats, but isolated tornadoes will be possible as well. If the center of low pressure tracks farther north and some sunshine develops between the two rounds of precipitation on Thursday, severe weather chances will increase for the day. If the center of the low pressure system takes a slightly more southward track, we will see more clouds across southern Wisconsin and lower chances for severe weather. High temperatures will reach the low 60s on Thursday.

The weather looks quiet for the end of the work week and for the start of the weekend. Skies will become partly sunny on Friday with cooler temperatures in the lower to middle 50s. Saturday will be mostly sunny and pleasant with highs near 60 degrees. A chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop Sunday with breezy winds and highs in the middle 60s.

The next work week will begin with partly sunny skies on Monday and mild temperatures in the middle to upper 60s. More showers and thunderstorms will develop Monday night and Tuesday. Tuesday's temperatures will reach the middle to upper 60s. Showers will come to an end early Wednesday with skies becoming partly sunny. Highs will be near 70 degrees.
