NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK for severe thunderstorms for today and tonight across eastern Minnesota, eastern Iowa, far western Illinois, and western Wisconsin (west of a Superior to Wisconsin Dells to Dubuque, IA line). There is a SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms across western Minnesota and Iowa. A warm front will move northward through the central Midwest today. Warm and somewhat humid air will flow northward with the front. Scattered thunderstorms will develop near the warm front, and isolated thunderstorms may become severe, with hail and high winds being the main threats.
There is a SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms on Sunday and Sunday night for central and southeastern Minnesota, the northeastern third of Iowa, the northwestern two-thirds of Illinois, and all of Wisconsin. A low pressure system in the central Plains will move through the Midwest on Sunday, bringing a cold front across Wisconsin by evening. Thunderstorms may move into Wisconsin during the morning, and possibly redevelop in the afternoon. Warm and moderately humid air flowing into the Midwest along with strong wind fields may interact with earlier thunderstorms and the cold front, and may lead to a few severe thunderstorms. High winds and hail are the main threats, although isolated tornadoes may be possible. The severe weather threat should end with the passage of the cold front on Sunday night.
