NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms for this afternoon and tonight for eastern Illinois, and eastern Wisconsin (east of a Beloit to Stevens Point to Marinette, MI line). There is a MARGINAL RISK for severe thunderstorms for all but far northwestern Iowa, much of the rest of Illinois, and for the rest of the southeastern half of Wisconsin outside of the SLIGHT RISK area (south and east of a Rochester, MN to Rhinelander to Escanaba, MI line). Mild and somewhat humid air will be in place across Wisconsin and Illinois this afternoon ahead of a weak cold front. Thunderstorms are likely along and ahead of the cold front. Stronger wind fields above the ground may lead to a few severe thunderstorms, mainly this afternoon and evening. Hail and high winds will be the main threat, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the weak cold front this evening.
