NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is an ENHANCED RISK for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday and Wednesday night across much of central and eastern Iowa and northern Illinois. There is a SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms over far southwestern Minnesota, the rest of Iowa, and the rest of the northern two-thirds of Illinois. There is a MARGINAL RISK for severe thunderstorms over the rest of the southwestern third of Minnesota, the rest of Illinois, and far southwestern and southern Wisconsin (south and west of a La Crosse to Madison to Kenosha line).
Thunderstorms will move from the Central Plains through Illinois on Wednesday morning, cooling and stabilizing the air early in the day. As a low pressure system moves eastward into southern Wisconsin, warm and humid air will push back northward. Thunderstorms will develop by late afternoon in Iowa and southwestern Minnesota, moving eastward into Wisconsin and Illinois at night. Some severe thunderstorms with hail and high winds are possible. A few tornadoes may occur, mainly across Iowa and Illinois, where a swath of widespread wind damage may occur once storms form into a line. The severe weather threat will move eastward into Indiana overnight.
