Thunderstorms may redevelop in the afternoon or evening, and will once again have the potential to be severe. Skies will be variably cloudy, and it will remain very warm and humid with high temperatures reaching the upper 80s with heat index values into the lower to middle 90s. Showers and thunderstorms will end tonight with the passage of a weak cold front.
On Tuesday, another weak cold front will move through Wisconsin. Expect variably cloudy skies, warm and humid conditions, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms again. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s. Skies will clear out Tuesday night and humidity levels will decrease a little.
Wednesday will be partly sunny, not quite as warm, and a little less humid with high temperatures in the lower 80s. On Thursday, another low pressure system will develop to our west leading to variably cloudy skies and another chance for showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will remain in the lower 80s, and humidity levels will increase again. Friday will be partly sunny, very warm, and humid with just a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s, with heat index readings in the lower to middle 90s.
Very warm to hot and humid weather will continue into next weekend. Saturday will be partly sunny, hot, and humid with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms; high temperatures will be around 90 degrees, with heat index values will be in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. A cold front will move through Wisconsin from Saturday night into Sunday. Skies on Sunday will be variably cloudy, and it will be very warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms,; high temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect until 1 AM early Tuesday morning for north-central and northeastern Illinois, including the counties of WINNEBAGO, BOONE, and McHENRY (this includes the Rockford and Chicago metropolitan areas).
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight over all of southern Wisconsin, south of a line from Black River Falls to Green Bay.
A weak cold front will move southeastward through Wisconsin late today. As clouds thin and very warm to hot and very humid conditions develop, an extremely unstable atmosphere will be in place across the central Midwest. Additional severe thunderstorms may develop along the cold front and the outflow boundary during the afternoon, heading southeastward into southeastern Iowa and much of Illinois by evening.
Tornadoes, high winds, hail, and heavy rainfall are all threats with the afternoon and evening thunderstorms. In addition, an isolated strong tornado is possible, with the highest threat area being along the outflow boundary, most likely in northern Illinois.
