An area of showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to diminish as it moves east early this afternoon.  Skies will turn mostly sunny after the rain comes to an end and highs will climb to the middle and upper 80s.

A low pressure system will move north of Wisconsin tonight, dragging a weak cold front across the state by early Saturday morning. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms from later tonight into early Saturday morning. Behind the cold front, it will still be very warm and humid with high temperatures in the upper 80s. Heat index values will range from 92 to 97 degrees. It will be partly sunny, very warm, and humid on Sunday with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s with heat index values in the 90s.

The next work week will remain steamy. Monday will be hot and humid with partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be near 90 degrees with heat index values in the middle to upper 90s. Tuesday will be partly sunny, hot, and humid with high temperatures in the lower 90s and heat index values in the middle 90s to near 100 degrees. A chance for showers and thunderstorms will develop Tuesday night as a cold front makes its way across the state.

Behind the cold front, Wednesday will be very warm and humid. Any showers and thunderstorms will end early before skies become partly sunny. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s with heat index values ranging from 90 to 95.

Thursday will partly sunny and very warm, but a little less humid with high temperatures in the middle 80s. Friday will be partly sunny, very warm, and more humid as breezy southerly winds bring high temperatures into the upper 80s, and heat index readings into the lower 90s. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms Friday night as a cold front approaches from the west.
