The cold front will stall across northern Illinois on Tuesday, and head back northward as a warm front on Tuesday night as low pressure develops to our west. On Wednesday, a cold front will arrive late in the day as the low pressure system moves to the north of Wisconsin. Tuesday will be variably cloudy , warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with high temperatures in the lower 80s. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, very warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms; high temperatures will be in the middle 80s with afternoon heat index values in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

The heat and humidity will then build back into the area heading into the weekend. Friday will be partly sunny, breezy, warmer and more humid with high temperatures returning to the middle to upper 80s.

More summer weather is expected next weekend. Saturday will be partly sunny, breezy, hot, and humid with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.
