More of the same is expected on Wednesday, with partly sunny, hot and humid weather. High temperatures will be around 90 degrees, with afternoon heat index values in the middle to upper 90s. As a weak wind shift drops through Wisconsin, there is a slight chance for a shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon or evening.
A ridge of high pressure will remain over much of the country for the rest of the week, continuing the summer-like weather. It will be partly sunny with high temperatures near 90 degrees, while heat index values continue in the middle to upper 90s every day for Thursday and Friday.
The Labor Day weekend will continue with well above-normal temperatures. Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny, very warm, and humid with high temperatures in the upper 80s, and heat index values in the middle 90s. As a cold front approaches from the northwest, a chance for showers and thunderstorms will develop from late Sunday afternoon or Sunday night into Labor Day Monday. On Labor Day, a little more cloud cover will keep high temperatures in the lower 80s.
