Connected Communities

What if our values shifted globally toward community, less consumption and sustainability?

What-ifs for the watershed

Each Yahara 2070 scenario inquires a different "what if" about how we could choose to manage land and water amid a changing climate and plays out the implications for the watershed's future. Characters tell the story of each pathway to 2070 and illustrations by Madison-based artist John Miller bring them to life. Data generated by computer models tell us the ecological implications, the natural factors that determine future quality of life. Combined, the Yahara 2070 scenarios are meant to generate public discussion and inform decision making about what is desirable for the future of the Madison area and how we can achieve clean lakes and waterways, healthy ecosystems and resilient communities for generations to come. Learn more at yahara2070.org.
