NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for much of northern Iowa, northeastern Illinois, and southern Wisconsin (south of a La Crosse to Wisconsin Dells to Milwaukee line). There is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois. A developing strong storm system will track through southern Wisconsin on Wednesday night. Mild and increasingly humid air will be transported northward on strong southerly winds into the central Midwest ahead of the storm. A cold front will swing eastward from Iowa into Wisconsin and Illinois on Wednesday night as the storm moves through southern Wisconsin. Thunderstorms will develop along and ahead of the cold front, and some may become severe, especially from southern Iowa into central and southern Illinois, where there is a threat for a few tornadoes, high winds, and hail. Farther northward into northern Iowa, northern Illinois, and extreme southern Wisconsin, the main threat will be from high winds, and perhaps some hail. The severe weather threat will end with the passage of the cold front Wednesday night.
