Skies will be mostly cloudy this afternoon with highs in the upper 30s and snow showers developing from west to east toward evening.

A winter storm will impact southern Wisconsin from tonight into Saturday. Snow showers tonight will drop 1-3" north of Madison and 3-6" south of Madison. Additional snow accumulations of 1-4" will fall on Saturday morning before it tapers to flurries and ends from west to east. Total storm accumulations will range from 2-5" north of Madison to 5-10" south of Madison. This storm will be very compact, so any wobble in its track could alter projected snow totals. Skies will begin clearing from west to east late Saturday afternoon. It will be breezy and cold with high temperatures around 30 degrees. Sunday will be mostly sunny and continued cold with high temperatures in the upper 20s to around 30 degrees. 

Temperatures will become more seasonable next week. Monday will be partly sunny and not as cold as high temperatures near 40 degrees. Tuesday will be partly sunny and breezy with high temperatures in the lower to middle 40s.

Wednesday with be variably cloudy, breezy, and milder with a chance of rain showers. High temperatures will reach the middle to upper 40s. Thanksgiving Day will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and mild with rain showers moving through. High temperatures will reach the upper 40s.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and turning colder with scattered rain showers ending. High temperatures will reach the middle 40s early Friday, but will hold steady or fall in the afternoon.  It will be variably cloudy and a bit cooler Saturday with highs back near 40.

A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued from 6 PM tonight until 3 PM Saturday afternoon for north-central Illinois, including the counties of WINNEBAGO and BOONE (this includes the Rockford metropolitan area).

A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued from 9 PM tonight until 3 PM Saturday afternoon for south eastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois. In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of JEFFERSON and WALWORTH (this includes the Milwaukee metropolitan area). In Illinois, this includes the county of McHENRY (this includes the Chicago metropolitan area).

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued from 6 PM tonight until noon Saturday for VERNON, MARQUETTE, GREEN LAKE, SAUK, AND COLUMBIA counties.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued from 9 PM tonight until 3 PM Saturday for DODGE county.
