A strong storm system will continue to affect Wisconsin tonight and Monday. Heavy rainfall will remain likely, with record rainfall and record temperatures possible. Tonight will be cloudy, windy, and very mild with temperatures holding nearly steady in the 50s. The record warmest low for Madison tonight is 42 degrees set in 2014. Rain and isolated thunderstorms are likely tonight.

Unsettled weather will linger into Monday with cloudy skies, windy conditions, and scattered rain showers. Temperatures will start out in the 50s early Monday, but temperatures will slowly fall through the day. The record high for Madison on Monday is 59 degrees set in 1975, and there is a chance we could be that warm at midnight early Monday. The record rainfall for Monday is 1.04 inches set in 1891, and that record is also in jeopardy.

Tuesday will be variably cloudy and not quite as mild with high temperatures in the middle 40s. A chance for rain showers will develop Tuesday night as another low pressure system moves into Wisconsin. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and turning colder with a chance for a few light rain and snow showers. High temperatures will reach the middle 40s, but will hold steady or slowly fall through the day.

More typical December weather will move into Wisconsin late in the work week and into the weekend. Thursday will be variably cloudy and breezy with highs in the lower 30s. Friday will remain variably cloudy, breezy, and cold with highs in the upper 20s.

Saturday will be partly sunny and cold with highs in the middle 20s. Sunday will be partly sunny and a little milder as stronger winds out of the southwest help to bring temperatures back to the middle and upper 30s.
