Tonight will be mostly cloudy with areas of fog and drizzle. Temperatures will fall to the lower 30s this evening before temperatures hold steady or slowly rise overnight. Winds will gradually increase out of the south/southeast. 

A strong storm system will move through the Midwest on Wednesday. It will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and unseasonably mild with rain showers; isolated thunderstorms are also possible. High temperatures will be in the lower to middle 50s. The record high temperature for Madison is 58 set in 1877.  After the passage of a cold front, rain may briefly mix with snow Wednesday night before ending.  

Christmas Eve day will be variably cloudy and colder with a chance for flurries, mainly in the afternoon and evening. High temperatures will reach the upper 30s. Pleasant weather is expected for the Christmas Day holiday with partly sunny skies and mild high temperatures around 40 degrees.

Skies will become mostly cloudy and it will become breezy with rain and snow showers developing on Christmas Day night. Rain showers will continue Saturday, but could be mixed with snow early in the day and again at night. It will be windy with high temperatures around 40 degrees. Any rain and snow showers will come to an end early on Sunday. It will be mostly cloudy, breezy and a little colder with high temperatures in the middle 30s.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and windy with rain developing. High temperatures will be near 40 degrees. Rain will mix with and change to light snow Monday night as temperatures fall just below the freezing mark. Any snow will come to an end early on Tuesday morning, otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and colder with high temperatures reaching the middle 30s.

Low: 33 in the evening; temperatures holding nearly steady/slowly rising overnight
Wind: S/SE increasing to 10-20 MPH

WEDNESDAY:
Mostly cloudy, breezy, and unseasonably mild with rain showers; an isolated thunderstorm is possible.
High: 52 (Record high for Madison is 58 set in 1877)
Wind: S/SE 10-20 MPH

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:
Mostly cloudy, breezy, and turning colder with rain showers possibly mixing with snow before ending.
Low: 32
Wind: SW 10-20 MPH

Variable cloudiness and a little colder with a chance for flurries, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
