A developing storm system will affect southern Wisconsin from late Sunday night through early Tuesday morning. Skies will become mostly cloudy on Sunday night, and it will remain windy. There is a chance for snow, sleet, and freezing rain to develop late Sunday night. On Monday, a wintery mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain are likely, with some snow and ice accumulation likely. The mixed precipitation may briefly change to rain as high temperatures climb into the middle 30s, but should change back to a mix of precipitation types by evening, and eventually to all snow overnight Monday night. It will be quite windy as well.
On Tuesday, precipitation will diminish to snow showers and flurries. It will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and cold with high temperatures in the lower 30s. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and cold with light snow and flurries; high temperatures will be in the upper 20s.
New Year's Eve will be variably cloudy, breezy and cold with scattered flurries; high temperatures will be in the middle 20s; temperatures will be in the upper teens around midnight to ring in the new year. The first day of 2016 will be cold as well. Skies will be partly sunny and it will be breezy with high temperatures in the lower 20s.
Quiet and seasonably cold weather is expected for the first weekend of the New Year. Saturday will be partly sunny, breezy, and cold with high temperatures in the lower to middle 20s. Sunday will be partly sunny and seasonably cold with high temperatures in the upper 20s.
