A chance of drizzle will develop this evening and continue tonight as temperatures stay above freezing through the night with lows in the lower 30s. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and mild with scattered light rain showers, which may briefly mix with snow late in the day before ending in the evening. Highs will be near 40.
The unsettled pattern continues next week. Monday will be partly sunny and pleasant with highs in the middle 30s. On Tuesday, a major winter storm will move into the area, but the location is still uncertain. It will be windy and at this point, the track would bring snow to the area initially before changing over to rain for much of the area for most of the day, then changing back over to snow. Highs will be in the mid 30s, but cooler to the northwest. Areas far northwest of Madison would see snow all day and end up with the highest snowfall amounts. This is still subject to change, as the track of this storm has changed several times over the last few days.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder with light snow ending. Temperatures will start in the middle 20s before falling through the day.
Thursday and Friday will be partly sunny and colder with highs near 20. There is another chance of snow showers next Saturday with highs remaining near 20. Sunday will be partly sunny and not as cold with highs in the upper 20s.
