It will be a breezy and bitter cold start to the day. Even though the snow is ending early this morning, northwest winds will cause some blowing snow across southern Wisconsin. Skies will turn partly sunny with high temperatures only in the single digits, and wind chills staying below zero for most of the day. Frigid conditions are expected tonight with mostly clear skies; low temperatures will be in the single digits below zero with wind chills as cold as -10 to -25 through early Wednesday morning.
Wednesday will be another very cold day with high temperatures only reaching the lower middle teens. Clouds will thicken Wednesday with a chance for flurries in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will hold steady or slowly rise Wednesday night, and Thursday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and milder with high temperatures getting back to the lower 30s. Friday will be mostly cloudy with snow showers developing. Snow may mix with rain Friday afternoon as high temperatures warm just above freezing to the middle 30s.
Another shot of frigid weather arrives by the weekend. into early next week. Saturday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder with snow showers and flurries. High temperatures will reach the lower 20s in the morning before temperatures fall back through the teens in the afternoon. Temperatures will fall to around zero by early Sunday morning, with wind chills as cold as -10 to -25. Sunday will be variably cloudy, windy, and very cold with a slight chance for flurries. High temperatures will only reach the lower teens and wind chills will range from 0 to -10 through the day.
Bitterly cold weather will stick around next Monday with mostly sunny skies and breezy winds. Temperatures will start in the single digits below zero with wind chills as cold as -10 to -25. High temperatures on Monday will reach the single digits with wind chills from 0 to -10 during the day.
