An area of low pressure will slowly track through the area today.  Today will be mostly cloudy with areas of fog. Any mixed precipitation will change to light rain showers or drizzle as high temperatures climb into the middle to upper 30s. Tonight, rain showers should change to snow showers and diminish quickly to flurries during the overnight hours.

Colder weather will return for the weekend. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and turning windy and colder in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the lower 30s in the morning before temperatures fall back through the 20s in the afternoon. Light snow will develop late in the day or at night, mainly east of Madison. Some minor accumulations will be possible. Sunday will be variably cloudy, windy, and colder with scattered flurries, mainly in the morning. High temperatures will only reach the lower to middle teens.

The coldest air of the winter will continue to affect southern Wisconsin through the middle of next week. Low temperatures on Monday morning will fall into the lower single digits, and wind chills could drop to -5 to -20. Monday will be partly sunny, breezy, and quite cold with high temperatures in the middle teens. A weak weather disturbance could bring some flurries from Monday night, ending early on Tuesday morning, before skies become partly sunny. Tuesday will be breezy and very cold, as temperatures start in the single digits, with wind chills as cold as 0 to -15. High temperatures will be in the lower to middle teens.

Wednesday will be another very cold day with partly sunny skies and breezy winds. Temperatures will start near zero with wind chills as cold as -5 to -20 in the morning. High temperatures will only reach the lower teens. A chance for flurries will develop Wednesday night, coming to an end early on Thursday. The rest of Thursday will become partly sunny and not as cold with high temperatures in the upper teens. Friday will be variably cloudy and not as cold with a chance for flurries. High temperatures will return to the upper 20s.

Partly sunny, windy, and colder with scattered flurries, mainly in the morning.

High: 12

MONDAY:
Partly sunny, breezy, and very cold (becoming mostly cloudy with flurries developing at night).

TUESDAY:
Flurries ending; becoming partly sunny, breezy, and very cold.
Low: 6; Wind Chills: 0 to -15 in the morning
