Skies will become mostly sunny this afternoon, and it will be windy and turn colder as a cold front sweeps through the state. High temperatures will top out in the upper teens with temperatures slowly falling through the afternoon.
Another shot of bitterly cold air will arrive tonight into Saturday. Low temperatures on Saturday morning will drop to the middle single digits below zero, while wind chills become as cold as -10 to -25. Saturday will be mostly sunny and very cold with high temperatures near 10.
After low temperatures fall to around zero very early Sunday morning, temperatures will begin to rise. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with snow showers moving through the area. High temperatures will return to near 20 degrees. Snowfall accumulations of 2-4" are possible through Sunday night.
Next week, temperatures will begin to moderate. Monday will be mostly cloudy and not as cold with a chance of flurries, mainly early in the day and high temperatures near 30. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and seasonably cold with a chance of snow showers and flurries. High temperatures will be around 30 degrees again. Skies will become mostly sunny on Wednesday and it will turn a little colder as high temperatures drop back to the middle 20s.
Milder weather is expected for the end of next week. Thursday will be variably cloudy, windy and milder with a slight chance of rain showers developing and high temperatures in the upper 30s. Friday will be variably cloudy, breezy, and mild with a chance for a few rain showers. High temperatures will reach the middle 40s.
