This afternoon will bring several types of precipitation to southern Wisconsin. Snow from this morning will mix with and change over to rain in areas from Dane county to the south and east. The precipitation should remain all snow north and West of Dane county. A period of heavy snow is possible north and west of Wisconsin Dells. High temperatures will range from the lower 30s near Wisconsin Dells to the upper 30s from Dane County to the south and east. It will be windy through the afternoon, reducing visibilities and making travel difficult, especially to the north and west.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with mixed precipitation changing back to snow showers and flurries. Snow amounts through tonight are expected to be 1-3" from Madison to the south and east, 3-6" north and west of Dane County, and 6"+ northwest of Wisconsin Dells.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and colder with snow showers gradually ending. Additional accumulations of 1-2" are possible. Temperatures will start in the lower 30s, before holding steady or falling into the upper 20s during the day.
Thursday will be variably cloudy and a little colder with high temperatures in the lower to middle 20s. There is a chance of flurries later Thursday or Thursday night. Friday will be partly sunny and seasonably cold with high temperatures near 30 degrees. Another chance of flurries will develop Friday night.
Saturday will be variably cloudy and milder with highs in the mid 30s. Sunday will be variably cloudy, breezy and mild with high temperatures in the middle 30s again.
Light snow will develop Sunday night and continue on Monday as a system moves by to the north and stalls just to the east. Temperatures will tumble from early highs in the mid 20s on Monday as cold air pours in behind that system.
Tuesday and Wednesday look quite cold with highs in the teens.
