A powerful storm system will continue to move away from Wisconsin. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and colder with a slight chance of rain showers, possibly mixing with snow north of Madison overnight. Winds will remain strong, with gusts higher than 40 MPH this evening, but should gradually diminish overnight. Temperatures will fall into the middle 40s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall to the middle 30s by early Thursday morning.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and cooler with scattered rain showers; the showers may be mixed with snow north of Madison early in the day. High temperatures will be in the middle 40s. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy and colder with rain showers changing to flurries. Temperatures will fall to near 30 degrees by early Friday morning. Any flurries will end Friday morning with variably cloudy skies and chilly high temperatures in the lower 40s.
The weekend should be nice but on the cool side. Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny and chilly with high temperatures in the lower 40s. Monday will be partly sunny and continued cool as well with high temperatures in the lower 40s.
Milder air will return Tuesday as another storm system develops to our west. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and milder with scattered showers. Some snow may be mixed with the rain early in the day, especially north of Madison. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s. Wednesday will be variably cloudy, breezy, and milder with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly late in the day. High temperatures will reach the middle to the upper 50s.
