A  developing storm system currently located in our west will move toward northern Illinois from tonight through Wednesday night. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and windy with rain showers developing; the shower may be mixed with sleet and snow well north of Madison. Temperatures will fall into the middle 40s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall into the upper 30s by morning.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder with occasional rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. The rain may be mixed with snow and sleet in areas well north of Madison. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. On Wednesday night, as the storm moves into Indiana and Michigan, it will remain windy and become colder with precipitation changing to mainly snow for areas to the north of Madison. Some sleet or freezing rain will remain possible along with snow and rain in and around Madison Wednesday night, with mainly rain southeast of Madison. Snow may be heavy at times well north of Madison. Temperatures will fall into the lower 30s.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and colder with snow tapering to flurries before ending late in the day. Snow may continue to be mixed with rain southeast of Madison. High temperatures will be in the middle 30s. Total snow accumulations will be heaviest north of Wisconsin Dells where 6-9"+ could accumulate. Accumulations of 3-6" are possible north of Dane County to near Wisconsin Dells. Accumulations will be much lighter across Dane County and areas to the south, where up to 1-3" will accumulate.

Friday will be partly sunny. It will become breezy and a little milder again with high temperatures in the middle 40s.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered rain showers. High temperatures will reach the upper 40s. Rain may mix with snow briefly late Saturday night. Easter Sunday will be mostly cloudy and chilly with rain showers, although the rain may be mixed with snow early in the morning and again at night before ending. High temperatures will reach the middle 40s. 

Monday will be partly sunny and seasonably cool with high temperatures in the upper 40s. Milder air will return Tuesday with partly sunny skies, and it will become breezy. High temperatures will return to the lower 50s.

A WINTER STORM WARNING has been issued from 7 PM Wednesday evening until 1 PM Thursday afternoon for east-central Wisconsin, including the counties of MARQUETTE and GREEN LAKE.

A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued from 6 PM Wednesday evening until noon Thursday for extreme northeastern Iowa, and parts of southwestern Wisconsin. In Iowa, this includes the county of ALLAMAKEE. In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of RICHLAND and CRAWFORD.

A WINTER STORM WATCH has been issued from 7 PM Wednesday evening until 1 PM Thursday afternoon for parts of south-central and southeastern Wisconsin including the counties of SAUK, COLUMBIA, and DODGE
