An area of low pressure developing over the central part of the country tonight will bring mostly cloudy skies, and it will be breezy and unseasonably mild with areas of fog. There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly toward morning. Temperatures will fall to the upper 50s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall to the middle 50s by morning. The record for the warmest low temperature for Madison is 51 set in 1878.
The low-pressure system will continue to approach Wisconsin from the west. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy, windy, and unseasonably mild with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will climb to the middle 60s.
The low-pressure system will pass to our north on Tuesday night, dragging a cold front through Wisconsin. Skies will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, but not quite as mild with scattered showers; high temperatures will drop back to the middle 50s. Showers will become likely on Wednesday night.
Thursday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers, mainly in the morning. High temperatures will reach the lower 50s. Friday will be variably cloudy and mild with high temperatures in the lower 50s as well.
Temperatures will remain mild for the weekend, and there will be some shower chances. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with showers developing, especially in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the middle 50s. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and high temperatures in the middle 50s.
Monday will be variably cloudy and continued mild with high temperatures near 50 degrees. At this point, it looks like Monday will remain dry.
