The next storm system will move into Wisconsin today. Once again, we'll begin the morning with areas of fog.  Skies will be mostly cloudy with showers and scattered thunderstorms. Showers will be scattered in the morning, but will become more numerous in the afternoon and evening. A few storms could become strong with hail and damaging winds possible.  It will be a windy and mild day with highs in the upper 50s. A cold front will move through Wisconsin tonight, ending the thunderstorm threat.

As the storm moves away from Wisconsin on Wednesday, it will be mostly cloudy, windy, and cooler with a chance of showers. High temperatures will reach the lower 50s.  Winds may gust as high as 50 MPH at times.

Cooler weather will return for the end of the work week into the weekend. Thursday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, and colder with a chance of rain showers. Highs will reach the middle 40s. The showers may mix with light snow before ending Thursday night. Friday will be variably cloudy and seasonably cold with high temperatures in the lower 40s.

For the weekend, a weather system will move through the Midwest on Saturday, with variably cloudy skies and a slight chance for some rain and snow showers. High temperatures will be near 40 degrees. Any flurries will come to an end early Sunday, with skies becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 30s. Monday will be partly sunny and seasonably cool with highs in the middle 40s.

NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms today and tonight for northern and central Illinois, eastern Iowa, as well as far southern Wisconsin (south of a line from Prairie du Chien to Madison to West Bend), and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the eastern third of Iowa, the rest of Illinois, and the southern third of Wisconsin (south of a La Crosse to Sheboygan line). Mild and somewhat humid air will cover the central Midwest today, as a cold front sweeps eastward through Wisconsin and Illinois during the afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected along and ahead of the cold front, and there is the potential for a few severe thunderstorms to develop. Strong wind fields above the cold front and colder air aloft may result in the severe thunderstorms producing high winds and hail. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out as well, but higher wind shear indicates that the tornado threat will be highest in the SLIGHT RISK area farther to the south into eastern Illinois. The severe weather threat will end with passage of the cold front tonight.
