Skies will become mostly clear tonight, and it will be very chilly, with widespread frost likely. A hard freeze is also likely for areas north of Madison. Temperatures will fall to the upper 30s by late evening; overnight low temperatures will fall to the lower 30s by morning. The record low temperature for Madison is 30 degrees, set in 1983.

Sunday will be partly sunny and not quite as chilly with high temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees.

Monday will be variably cloudy and milder with high temperatures in the middle 60s. A slight chance of showers will develop on Monday afternoon and continue on Tuesday with variably cloudy skies and high temperatures in the lower to middle 60s.

Quiet weather and a steady warming trend will settle across southern Wisconsin for the rest of week and through the following weekend. Wednesday will be mostly sunny and pleasant with high temperatures in the middle 60s. Thursday will be mostly sunny and milder with high temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70. Friday will be partly sunny and mild with high temperatures near 70.

Expect dry and mild weather for next weekend. Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny and very mild with high temperatures in the middle to upper 70s.

A FROST ADVISORY has been issued from midnight until 8 AM Sunday morning for northeastern Iowa, and parts of west-central, southwestern, south-central, and southeastern Wisconsin. In Iowa, this includes the counties of ALLAMAKEE and CLAYTON. In Wisconsin, this includes the counties of VERNON, RICHLAND, CRAWFORD, IOWA, GRANT, LAFAYETTE, GREEN, ROCK, and WALWORTH (this includes the La Crosse and Milwaukee metropolitan areas).

A FROST ADVISORY has been issued from 1 AM until 8 AM Sunday morning for eastern Iowa and northern Illinois. In Iowa, this includes the counties of DELAWARE and DUBUQUE. In Illinois, this includes the counties of JO DAVIESS, STEPHENSON, WINNEBAGO, BOONE, and McHENRY (this includes the Rockford metropolitan area and the western, northwestern, and northern suburbs of Chicago).
