Patchy fog this morning will dissipate quickly this morning. Clouds will move into the area ahead of the next storm system. It will be breezy, very mild, and humid with showers and thunderstorms developing by afternoon. High temperatures will be in near 80. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue this evening, followed by areas of fog developing overnight. Temperatures will only fall into the middle 60s by early Thursday morning.
On Thursday, skies will be partly sunny, and it will be quite warm and humid with a very slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. High temperatures will reach the middle 80s, and heat index values will reach the middle 80s to near 90 degrees.
As we head toward the Memorial Day weekend, a storm system will develop to the west of Wisconsin on Friday and Saturday. Friday will be mostly cloudy, breezy, warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach the lower 80s. Saturday will be variably cloudy, breezy, warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will again reach the lower 80s. The chances for rain will become less later in the weekend although a shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out.Sunday will be variably cloudy, warm and humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach the lower to middle 80s. Memorial Day Monday will be partly sunny, and it will be warm and humid with just a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will be in the middle 80s.
The weather will remain warm and humid beyond the holiday as well. Tuesday will be partly sunny, very warm and humid with highs in the middle 80s. Heat index values will reach the middle 80s to near 90 degrees.

NOTES:
The Storm Prediction Center says that there is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for today and tonight across southern Minnesota, and most of Iowa, and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the rest of the southern two-thirds of Minnesota, the rest of Iowa, all but far eastern Illinois, and the western half of Wisconsin (west of a Superior to Beaver Dam to Lake Geneva line). A warm and humid air mass will continue to cover much of the Midwest lasting through Memorial Day. Scattered thunderstorms are likely, with an isolated strong to severe thunderstorms possible; hail and high winds would be the main threats. Higher chances for severe thunderstorms should remain in Iowa.
There is a SLIGHT RISK of severe thunderstorms for Thursday and Thursday night for extreme southern Minnesota and most of Iowa (except for the far eastern sections), and a MARGINAL RISK of severe thunderstorms for the rest of the southern third of Minnesota, the rest of Iowa, the northwestern two-thirds of Illinois, and the southern two-thirds of Wisconsin (south of a Minneapolis to Wausau to Marinette, MI line). Warm and humid air will continue across the Midwest on Thursday. Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible from southern Minnesota through much of Wisconsin into northern Illinois, with hail and high winds being the main threats. More widespread severe thunderstorm activity is expected in Iowa, where more instability and wind shear may lead to the threat for a few tornadoes.
It is possible there will be a daily threat for at least isolated severe thunderstorms into Friday and perhaps Saturday as well. The actual threat may be refined more when it becomes apparent where the best chance of thunderstorms development will be on a given day.
